With the season coming to a close, the priority is understandably beginning to turn to making the tough decisions regarding the ins and outs at the club ahead of a pivotal campaign next season.
Sorting Henderson’s future was arguably right at the top of the list of issues that needed to be resolved as quickly as possible, based on his fantastic performances and escalating levels of leadership – especially given Steven Gerrard will move on during the summer.
To have such an important player commit such a large portion of his career to us is almost like confirming a new transfer, and may inspire a strong end to an ultimately disappointing year.
Now, it would be nice if Raheem Sterling were to follow in his footsteps…
