To be fair, Paddy Power’s adverts are normally pretty funny – they’ve never been afraid to piggy-back on a bit of controversy to make people part with their hard-earned cash.
According to the Echo, they’ve directed their latest ad at us, making light of our ongoing injury crisis and Big Sam Allardyce’s comments.
The billboard, which reads “You’ll Never Walk Alone (or ever again if you play for Klopp)”, was placed in prime position outside of Liverpool Lime Street train station just in time for the Friday night rush hour.
In a statement, Paddy Power said: “With a bone-crunching thirteen players out injured it’s said only Jack Wilshere has more injuries than Liverpool and you know things are bad when Sam Allardyce is calling you out – Big Sam hasn’t used his hamstrings since the 1980s”.
“In all seriousness though I hope the Liverpool lads take heed of our warning before the curse of Klopp gets them too”.
We’ve currently got more than ten players sat on the side-lines due to injury (via PhysioRoom), and it seems like we might have picked up a couple more knocks in our 2-2 draw with League Two side Exeter City in the third round of the FA Cup tonight.
Tiago Ilori, who was generally impressive on his Liverpool debut, was forced off in the 77th minute, while Brad Smith also needed treatment a couple of minutes before full time.

Allardyce plays down Klopp beef
Despite the advert, we just about had the last laugh – in spite of the shocking pitch and the fact four of our players were playing for different teams two days ago, we still twice came from behind to force a replay back at Anfield.
