Danny Ings has been out for such a long time, it’s easy to forget that he was Liverpool’s best striker at the start of the season.
The summer signing from Burnley proved himself under Brendan Rodgers as a ferocious worker, scoring three goals in total and earning himself the respect of Liverpool fans who’d previously questioned his signing in the process.

At the weekend, Ings posted this four minute video to his Twitter followers. It tells the story of his injury, his best moments for Liverpool and Burnley and the gruelling recovery process.
It certainly gets you going!
Earlier in the month, Jurgen Klopp confirmed that the young Englishman was back training outside, although claimed Ings wasn’t close to an actual return.
“He’s still a long way away from being available but he’s here,” the German told the Echo.
Ings’s attitude, pressing and desire should suit Klopp perfectly, and we hope to see the 23-year-old again before the end of the campaign. It’ll be interesting to see who the manager regards as the primary backup to Daniel Sturridge when Ings, Divock Origi and Christian Benteke are all fit.
The end of the video features a dubbed Muhammad Ali quote: “I’m gonna show you how great I am!”
We can’t wait, Danny!
