Last season, there would have been a sizeable chunk of Liverpool fans who’d never heard of Ovie Ejaria, but fast forward to now and he’s on everyone’s lips.
Nigeria and England are fighting over him at international level and along with Ben Woodburn and Trent Alexander-Arnold, he’s rated as Liverpool’s most promising teenage prospect.

This player will ‘seal Liverpool the Premier League’ if they sign him in January, says Mickey Quinn
At just 18 (he’s recently turned 19), Jurgen Klopp gave him a Premier League debut and we can expect to see more of the rangy midfielder this month in the EFL Cup tie with Leeds United.
“It’s going really well in and around the first team,” Ejaria began..
“I’m really enjoying it and hopefully I can stay there if I keep doing well.”
Ejaria recently starred for Liverpool U23s in their 2-0 win over Reading and Ejaria has explained how Michael Beale gets the best out of him.
“He lets me play with a lot of freedom, and I do well when I’m playing with freedom,” he told Liverpoolfc.com
“It’s really good and I’m enjoying it. I was getting a lot of the ball and creating chances.
“I was trying to score as well, which is something I’m trying to add to my game.
“It was really good, especially in the first half. We should have been three or four up. But we dug in second half and got the win.”
We watched him against Reading and despite the fact he was up against Academy footballers, were blown away by his potential. His touch and ability to beat a player with a quick shimmy or feint is so easy on the eye, but he backs it up with delicate one-twos and smart, intricate through-balls.
What’s more, he possesses the physicality needed to dominate Premier League midfields. We can’t wait to see him at Anfield again next week, should Klopp select him in the three-man midfield as expected.
