Liverpool’s likeable Dutchman Gini Wijnaldum has dropped a hint that we could be signing his international team-mate Quincy Promes.
Promes plays for Spartak Moscow in Russia and has emerged as our no.1 target for January, where we need offensive strengthening because Sadio Mane will be absent at the AFCON for potentially up to nine Liverpool matches.

The 24-year-old can play on either flank, is quick and scores goals – so it’s easy to see why Jurgen Klopp considers him a viable option.
It appears Wijnaldum does too – after a comment he left on Promes’s Instagram page.
Our midfielder simply posted a prayer emoji on a snap of Promes and his partner on a plane. We’re not suggesting they were off to Merseyside, but the pair are good friends and we think the implication from Wijnaldum is pretty obvious!
Time will tell, of course. With Daniel Sturridge back in the goals and Coutinho very soon back, perhaps Klopp will decide we’ve enough already.
