Drawing any positives from the last month is proving to be a difficult task but we have to take them from wherever we can at the moment.
New contracts for key players seems to be the shining light in an otherwise dreadful January with Adam Lallana set to become the latest player to be rewarded with a new deal.
The Daily Express have reported: “England star Adam Lallana has agreed a new four year £120,000 a week deal ending fears that he could be lured away from Anfield this summer.”
Lallana will now reportedly earn as much as James Milner and Daniel Sturridge as the club look to fight off any proposed interest from the likes of Paris Saint-Germain.
The 28-year-old has showcased perhaps the most notable rise to form under Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool, racking up seven goals and seven assists in the Premier League this season and transforming into one of the club’s most important players.
His work ethic and the fight he has incorporated means he promises to be at the heart of any revival from the Reds after a torrid few weeks.
Securing key men for the future is great but we need them back to their very best right now.
