So here’s one that will undoubtedly get fans purring with excitement…
According to Read Liverpool, Virgil van Dijk has verbally agreed to sign for Liverpool this summer, providing we confirm a Champions League spot for next season.
Ste Hoare, who’s a respected member of Liverpool Twitter and is the Head of Content at Fresh Press UK, penned the article – which states Southampton’s Dutch centre-back has already spoken with Jurgen Klopp.

According to the report, the £50m rated defender was mightily impressed with Klopp’s vision for his and our club’s future and Van Dijk gave him his word that he’d sign a contract providing we finish in the top four.
Of course, Chelsea and Manchester City (probably) will also be able to offer the 26-year-old elite European football next term, so we’d have to agree a deal with the Saints early to seal the deal.
Van Dijk would be a phenomenal signing and hopefully be able to fix our leaky backline.
For now though, we’ve got three games in order to confirm a Champions League spot and the possibility of signing brilliant players like the powerhouse centre-half.
