This morning, we had to shoot down a report by Spanish outlet Sport that suggested Coutinho to Barcelona was verbally agreed and a €90m transfer would be completed this summer.
Coutinho hasn’t agreed terms and we haven’t told the Catalans we’ll see for that fee, but fans still became fairly worried by the implication.
Last night though, Coutinho was actually not in Barcelona, thrashing out terms, but in Liverpool at an awards-do to collect his gong for Player of the Season, as voted by Liverpool’s Former Players Association.
While collecting his trophy, the Brazilian told the gathered audience of Reds Legends that: ‘One day I hope I can win as many trophies for Liverpool as players in the past did.’

Doesn’t sound much like a player set for a summer switch, does it? And that’s before considering the fact he’s repeatedly said he’s happy and signed a £150k/week contract in January…
What’s more, €90m wouldn’t buy half of Coutinho, if we’re going by Paul Pogba’s benchmark.
