Danny Ings has treated Liverpool fans to a refreshing insight into his progress as he looks to get himself fit in time for the new Premier League season.
Consecutive season-ending knee injuries have seen the Reds striker endure two torrid campaigns since his move to Anfield in 2015.
The former Burnley man has been working hard behind the scenes as he looks to make a full recovery and finally get the chance to show Jurgen Klopp what he is capable of.
Ings suffered his second knee injury in November’s EFL Cup win over Tottenham and has been sidelined ever since. This came after the striker had been working admirably to regain his place in the senior squad by training and playing for Liverpool’s U23s.
It has been for his professionalism and commitment to the cause that has earned him the respect of his manager and thereby granted him the time and secured him the opportunity to prove himself.
The club has taken an understandably cautious approach with Ings in aid of preventing a repeat of his previous setback and ensuring he is in peak condition before he makes a full return to action.
Having seen little in the way of updates on the forward recently, the latest footage of him taking part in a light training exercise is a pleasing sight with Reds desperate to see him get his chance next season and start scoring goals again.
