Tottenham are being linked with an interest in signing Borussia Dortmund misfit Mario Gotze this summer.

LFC in surprise battle Chelsea for star with £35m buy-out clause
Given the player’s connections with Jurgen Klopp, it’s somewhat surprising to see a lack of links with the Germany international and LFC so far, but should we be in the running?
Gotze has struggled to hit top form in recent times and football.london claims Spurs are exploring the possibility of signing him, possibly for as little as £18million.
While there can be no doubt the 26-year-old hasn’t become the world beater many expected he would be when he was a youngster, who knows what a reunion with Klopp could do for his confidence?
Many were talking about Gotze like he could be the next Messi when he broke through under Klopp at Dortmund, and we’ve seen at Liverpool just how much our charismatic boss can improve players.
That’s not necessarily to say Gotze would be a guaranteed success, but at that price and as a squad player to give us more options to rotate that front three he’s comparable with Xherdan Shaqiri, linked with us by the Guardian among others, so why not?
Otherwise the World Cup winner could just head to a top four rival in Spurs instead, and we know Mauricio Pochettino isn’t half bad at improving players either.
