With Emre Can set to leave us this summer, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has already moved to strengthen our midfield options for next season.

As per the club site, Can will depart when his contract expires at the end of the month, while BBC Sport note that Fabinho and Naby Keita will arrive to bolster that department.

In turn, we look well set. However, speculation has been linking us with another potential transfer to continue to add quality and depth.

According to Calciomercato though, Juventus stalwart Sami Khedira will not be moving to Anfield, as the German international has been tipped to remain in Turin.

The vastly experienced 31-year-old has a real winning pedigree and has performed at the highest level for club and country for many years.

With that in mind, it could be argued that he might have been a sensible addition to our squad as we look to compete on various fronts next season and take that next step towards winning trophies. However, this latest report would suggest that is unlikely to now happen, and so it remains to be seen whether or not the club opt to look elsewhere or settle on what we already have.

It’s been great to see us move quickly to bring in reinforcements, giving new arrivals as much time as possible this summer to settle, adapt and prepare for next season. Time will tell though who else will join the ranks to add more strength to the group.
