James Milner uses social media the best way possible – to make his fans laugh!
He’s not rude, pretentious – or anything in between.
In short, he nails it!
But even Liverpool’s vice-captain couldn’t help but weigh in on the VAR debate which has been the only irritating thing about this summer’s World Cup to date.

We were told VAR would stop us talking about decisions, but it just makes us talk about them more. We’re going down a rabbit hole of analysis where the only thing we’re worried about is faceless men in a mysterious room, making laborious choices based on super slow-motion replays and not the real life action the referee actually sees.
Last night’s games, Spain v Morocco and Portugal v Iran, were insanely entertaining, but potentially not for the right reasons.
And Milner agrees:
Thoughts on #VAR anyone? Absolute shambles for me 🤬 #beautifulgamespoilt #worldpenaltycup #rugbytacklesallowed

Thankfully, next season’s Premier League will not be ruined by VAR – as the clubs voted for it not be included.
But it’s inevitable that at some point, it’ll come in.
