The Liverpool first-team is back at Melwood for pre-season, and James Milner is still the fittest player by some distance, despite being 32-years-old.
Yesterday, the players did the lactate threshold test, a more advanced version of the bleep tests essentially, and Milner blew his younger team-mates out of the park.

As Liverpool fan Matthew Ordish points out, Milner ousted Adam Lallana into second place, before moving the players out of his way, as he was about to do another lap.

Nobody assumes Milner will start for Liverpool since the arrival of Fabinho and Keita, but that was the case last season too – and he was one of the first names on our team-sheet in the Champions League Final.
He may be 32, but he has the body of a 25-year-old due to his jaw-dropping professionalism and natural fitness.
