Liverpool have fired respected physio Ruben Pons, the man who travelled to the World Cup with Mo Salah to monitor the Egyptian’s fitness.
This is according to Training Ground Guru, who state that Performance Manager Philipp Jacobsen, who arrived earlier this summer, has relieved Pons of his duties, despite the Spaniard being at Melwood since 2014 and having a strong reputation from having worked at Barcelona, Real Madrid and Villarreal.

They claim that other changes have been made, too:
“Matt Konopinski, who had been acting up as Head Physio following the sacking of Andy Renshaw last November, will revert to his former position of first-team physio, while Scott McAuley will move from first team to Academy.”
This means that before the start of the new season, a few physios, doctors or medical experts are likely to arrive at the club.
Liverpool are still without an assistant manager, but the belief is that Pep Lijnders will gradually take the role, with Peter Krawietz still a vital member of the coaching staff as well, since Zeljko Buvac’s exit.
We wish Pons all the best in his future ventures and hope Salah isn’t too disappointed by his departure!
