Wayne Rooney has named Steven Gerrard as the best player he ever played with for England – ending the debate over whether the Reds legend was better than Paul Scholes and Frank Lampard.
If even former Manchester United and Everton man Rooney admits it, it simply must be true – but we already knew that!
Speaking to Sky Sports, Rooney said: “I’d have to say Gerrard. At times, he got us through games and at the period where we lost a lot of players – Stevie pulled us through a lot of games then.”
