Gini Wijnaldum says James Milner’s versatility makes him one of the best players in the world – claiming there is no one able to adapt to more positions than the Reds’ number seven in world football.
Wijnaldum said, via the Daily Star: “Which player in the world can you play in every position in a team and he will do really well in all of those positions? There is no-one, apart from Milner.
“He has played in so many different roles and he is always brilliant. That’s why I rate him among the very best at the top.”
Wijnaldum started alongside Milner as he made his 500th career Premier League appearance in the victory at Bournemouth, while Mo Salah gave him his Man of the Match award to mark the moment.
Wijnaldum added: “Wherever the boss puts him on the pitch he will always be better than his opponent and will always do a great job for the team. What Milner is capable of at this level I have never seen other players do.
“Some players can get frustrated when they have to switch positions, but with Milner, you will never see a mood swing. His attitude just stays the same.”
Both Milner and Wijnaldum will be hoping to start against Napoli and Manchester United this week in what will be a huge few days for Liverpool.
