The creative midfielder was exceptional during 2017/18 and there is no reason to doubt that he will reach that level again, even if the road to recovery after his serious injury has been long. He has not got back to 100 per cent just yet, but he will get there.

The club clearly think he can match or exceed those levels once he gets back into his stride, though Jurgen Klopp and fans will need to continue to be patient with the number 15.
When the news of Oxlade-Chamberlain’s new contract broke, this is how some Reds supporters reacted on Twitter.

Ox is such an important contract to renew. One of the most important figures in the locker room for the atmosphere and has a rare bread of mentality. Henderson said that he was a key factor off the pitch last season. Besides that, his footballing abilities speaks for themselves.

Oxlade-Chamberlain will be hoping to be in the starting XI on Saturday evening as the Reds take on his former club, Arsenal. A goal in a big match like that could be exactly what he needs to push on even more after the brilliant news of his new contract.
