Martin Skrtel and Liverpool will appeal the charge of violent conduct brought by the FA against him after the 2-1 loss to Manchester United.

The FA allege that Skrtel stamped on David De Gea when challenging for the ball, but while our defender’s studs certainly made contact with the Spaniard, it could be argued that it was merely his momentum that carried him through to the Red Devils goalkeeper.
According to the BBC, that will be our argument – that the collision was indeed accidental – but it’s hard to say if we’ll be successful.
Diego Costa was banned for a stamp on Emre Can earlier in the season, and Chelsea’s attempts to appeal were rejected as frivolous by the FA.
Costa wasn’t given a further match suspension due to the nature of their appeal, but we’d have to be wary of the risks involved.
Unless the appeal is successful, Skrtel is set to miss matches against Arsenal (A), Blackburn Rovers (H) and Newcastle United (H).
