Great story about Henderson…
Jordan Henderson was so desperate to captain Liverpool against Blackburn in the FA Cup last night, he had a car waiting outside the hospital to race him back to Lancashire, reports Goal.

Liverpool won 1-0 away at Ewood Park, and will now face Aston Villa at Wembley. Steven Gerrard will be back from suspension then, but if Rodgers decides to keep the legendary midfielder on the bench, he’ll have a more than adequate vice-captain to fill in – as Jordan Henderson proved yet again last night….
“Jordan Henderson actually had to go back from the hotel – his partner had their second child during the night, so he had gone away, hadn’t slept so much and travelled back again and put in a performance like he did tonight, a real captain’s performance,” Rodgers said at his post-match media conference.
“Some players maybe would have missed the game, but he said to me: ‘Boss, as soon as the baby’s out I’ll be coming back!’ There was a car waiting!
“He spent time with his young partner, child and family, which is great, but he said, ‘I’ll be back’ – and he was.
“He had his lunch, he had a good sleep this afternoon and then played like a real captain.”
The story epitomises the hunger and commitment to the Liverpool cause that Henderson has shown throughout this season – albeit during occasional difficult times.
The 24-year-old does not have the raw God-given ability of Gerrard, but very, very few do – and there’ll be no Liverpool fans disappointed if he is given the captaincy permanently upon the departure of the current skipper to MLS.
Henderson assisted Coutinho’s goal last night, making it 12 for the season – the highest of any player in the squad, as demonstrated by this tweet from LFCXtra stat analyst Andrew Beasley.
