As a result, we could be looking to pick up some bargain buys to help boost our top four prospects. This includes checking out the players that will be out of contract at the end of the season and available on a free transfer.
In the list below, we’ve picked out ten of the names likely to be available – according to transermarkt – and analysed where they could potentially fit in within our squad.
Who here, if anyone, takes your fancy?
10) Ron Vlaar (Aston Villa)
The Dutch defender has struggled this season, with his role in Villa’s survival bid greatly restricted due to injury. If he can get himself right over the summer, his performance at last year’s World Cup suggests he has plenty to offer.
9) Luiz Adriano (Shakhtar Donetsk)
The scorer of nine goals in seven European games this season, as well as the man who’s netted a minimum of 15 goals for each of the last six seasons. The 27-year-old Brazilian could be a big coup if he adapts to England.
8) Neto (Fiorentina)
Simon Mignolet’s revival as reduced our need for a new goalkeeper. However, most Reds fans wouldn’t disapprove of some quality back-up and the Brazilian would certainly fit the bill if he was willing to come.
