First of all, I want to wish everyone that writes for the site, as well as all of you readers, a very happy and healthy Christmas.
Now, here is my state of the union-esque Christmas letter to all of you:
We have had a very rough start to the season. Nothing seems to have gone right. We were knocked out of Champions League, we are effectively out of the title race and also are in jeopardy of booking a spot in both European competitions. For all the bad things that have happened to Liverpool, remember this: it’s not even January yet. There is still plenty of season left to go.
Don’t worry about all the negativity floating around the club, as it is only temporary, and it will pass. We are in a rut now, but this team has climbed much larger hurdles than what we have to deal with.
We have had to come to the realization that our hopes of winning that elusive Premier League title isn’t going to happen this season, but this club is in one of it’s most important battles of its’ existence. Sometimes, being a supporter means that you have to deal with some unsavory situations, this is no different. Though, they may test you, you can’t let it shake your resolve. Happy times will be here again soon, we just have to navigate rough patches, the same as in any relationship.
So spend your Christmas worry-free. We have a match to play on Boxing Day, and you know this club will be ready for it. The matches during the holiday season will be big, but if there is any club that knows how to turn their fortunes around, it must be the mighty Reds.
Merry Christmas, and YNWA.
