  1. Why on earth do you want Kenny? Are you nuts? The man may inspire the team but are you sure he has it in him so long after his last successful tenure in 1991 ? There are good reasons to doubt it!

  2. As long as we pick one or two good (genuine) wide players. Sick of central midfielders or failed forwards being thrust into a makeshift formation that offers us limited threat on the flanks.

I can’t see Aquilani coming back. He had a horrible time here and personally I just don’t think he’s physically up to the challenge. We have enough problems with injuries without an attacking midfielder who will be heavily targeted by every club.

I thought we’d finish 7 this season but right now we’re only 6 points off 4th place right now, so everything isn’t doom and gloom. We just need to be less conservative away from home, because right now that’s letting us down badly.

  3. It is a conspiracy..Capello wants to injure Stevie so that LFC will lose more games. Woy would then be sacked and lo and behold, Capello is the new Gaffer for LFC! Yipee!

  4. Hmm..

“There is no manager in the world that is better for LFC than KING KENNY”

I have good reasons to disagree to that. True, I don’t know King Kenny like you, but I gain solace from the fact that even people like Paul Tomkins thinks the same as me.
If we are not overtly emotional and just consider all the other tactical changes that have swept across football in the last 20 years, I think King Kenny would not be the 1st choice for me.

But what I want most is Liverpool to win games ..and play well. Under whoever it happens, it doesn’t matter!!

    1. Kaustav, I work in IT and if Kenny was a software developer I would probably say yes (although even in IT the basics I learnt 25 years ago haven’t changed).

Football hasn’t changed in 20 years, the basics are still the same plus Kenny has stayed on top of the game. As Paul (his son) said, Kenny hasn’t been in a coma.

As much as I respect Paul Tomkins however I do disagree with him, Kenny is a football genius. Kenny knows more about football about any football pundit or manager out there (Ironically most pundits have all played against Kenny) I urge you to read Kenny’s book.

      Let us talk about players.

Kenny knows the players better than any potential manager out there, not only does he have a relationship with Stevie G and Carra (Remember that it was Kenny who first brought Jamie to LFC) but he knows the academy players better than anyone.

    1. Liverbird, Shearer was never a manager. He returned to Newcastle as a manager after being a player.

Kenny has management experience and was great at that.

Remember that Kenny won the double in his first season as a manager.

  5. Forget about Kenny. Steve G is injured. Whats are the odds on us being back in the relegation zone at christmas?

    I hate friendlies.

  6. “Liverpool to sign a World Class player in January”
once again your headline totally misleading as it misquotes the article.
    c’mon Antoine!

  7. “Football hasn’t changed in 20 years, the basics are still the same plus Kenny has stayed on top of the game. As Paul (his son) said, Kenny hasn’t been in a coma.

What’s he been doing that you can point at for the past 20 years in footballing terms? You’ve named two players, what about the others, how well does he know these (again, point me at something which goes some way to prove this).

I agree he used to be excellent, but 20 years after that fact, show me the money …..

  8. We’ve lost Gerrard for at least 3 to 5 weeks why,for a meaningless friendly.Gerrard should have laid down the law to Capello and stated 45mins and thats me,but Gerrard just loves playing for England. The club v country row rears it’s ugly head yet again.

  9. I would hate to see Glen Johnson leave liverpool. He is a good player and when he finds his form again he will be such a help for us to try and get that top 4 finish we so badly need.

    YNWA !!!

  10. Gerrard’s a strong enough person that he would have said if he didn’t want to play for longer than an hour in the match. The simple fact is that playing for England means a lot to him and on this occasion he’s probably pushed himself too far. We can’t forget that he’s 30 now and has built a career on being a dynamic, hard working player. He’s had a history of groin and hamstring strain, and I think that it’s all beginning to catch up with him. Ultimately Gerrard needs to take a share of the responsibility for his own fitness.

I can understand the reasoning with Capello. His side were playing poorly, with a decent portion of relatively new players. Gerrard was easily the most senior and commanding player left on the pitch, and possibly the loss of him after an hour could have seen France go on to give England an absolute going over (in regards to the scoreline).

The calls for Dalglish also remind me of Newcastle, this time in regards to Keegan. Past history doesn’t mean guaranteed success, and I think the results of failure in that case could be even more damaging. Dalglish has a role with the club and already has the means to provide support and encouragement to the players. I wouldn’t want to see that wrecked on the back of chasing a fairytale ending.

  11. I agree Gerrard has pushed himself to far but at the expense of his club,England don’t play now till march but liverpool fc play every week and to lose a player of his stature is criminal.Personally i could’nt care less if England lost the game 10-1 it was a friendly, and not even a prestige one.England lost but we are the biggest loser’s in all of this.
