We all know that over summer, many things can change within a club. For example, new kits, new management and new players for starters. But so far, Liverpool fans have seen 2 monstrous kits from warrior, one of the hottest properties in Europe slip through there fingers and a want-away Luis Suarez.
Lets start with the kits. Now we all love the new home kit. Its new, but at the same time old, as we all know. In my opinion I think its one of the nicest home kits in a while. But the away kit? Come on, who are we kidding. It’s simply awful. When it was unveiled, each and every one of us sat there and said to ourselves (while maybe actually scratching our heads) “What on Earth have warrior done now…”. Maybe it will grow on us. Or maybe not. And what of the third kit? That’s not as bad, but there is a distinct mixed opinion on it. Some will say the colours are nice, and it looks modern, which it does. Others will say theres too much going on and that it’s as bad as the away kit. (An in-depth analysis can be found here).
Next, the somewhat annoying Mkhitaryan saga. With interest from Chelsea, Dortmund and PSG, it seemed as though Liverpool has beaten each of the clubs to the forward. Numerous sources had reported Liverpool had agreed a fee, and held talks. It’s even know that he was supposed to wear the number 18 shirt. So what happened? How has Dortmund supposedly cruised ahead of Liverpool for him? Your guess is as good as mine. The head-scratcher is, why didn’t Liverpool act faster and seal the deal if they knew the champions league runners-up were after him? (We’re looking at you, Ayre!).
Finally, what to do with Suarez. The famously infamous character is at it again (Yes, I know that was an oxymoron). However this time he’s not doing it on the pitch, he’s crying out to the media over leaving Liverpool. We all know the situation; I’ll skip to the point. Do we keep him or sell him? Well we won’t be getting anywhere by selling world class players will we? But then he could for sure fetch £40-£55 million. For that we could get who knows. But is it worth it? Can Liverpool attract other world class players now with no European football? There is a lot of risks by selling Suarez. Personally, I feel we should keep him for one more year. Then if it doesn’t work out, and we are no higher in the league than we are now, sure, sell him. The fact is, he has a contract. We have him, for now.
But looking on the bright side, Liverpool have the entire summer to find players, sell players, and for Brendan Rodgers to shout at warrior for making dreadful kits. Lets just hope we won’t have to scratch our heads as much as we have done already.
