Dani Carvajal could miss Real Madrid’s game with Liverpool…
Real Madrid could be without defender Dani Carvajal for Tuesday’s Champions League clash with Liverpool, after limping out of the win over Granada with a knee injury.
Reports in Spain explain that Carvajal was attempting to block a close range shot from Granada striker Isaac Success, only for the challenge to seemingly cause his leg to hyper-extend.
The incident, which occurred in the 37th minute, caused him to be replaced by substitute Alvaro Arbeloa, and the former Reds defender is now likely to start the game at the Bernabeu next week.
The Castilla product was seen with his knee wrapped throughout the remaining 10 minutes of the half before disappearing down the tunnel at the break. He is currently going undergoing tests and the extent of his injury will likely be shared by manager Carlo Ancelotti in his post-match press conference.
Carvjal, who played the entire Copa del Rey game against Cornella in mid-week, had been impressive in his first half hour of play, setting up the first goal for Cristiano Ronaldo as Madrid went on to win 4-0, and move temporarily top of the La Liga table.
