Liverpool face battle with Juventus to land cheap goalkeeping option in January
Liverpool have been linked with the signature of Birmingham City wonderkid Demarai Gray, who’s rated as a more cost-effective option that West Brom striker Saido Berahino…
The Mirror, CaughtOffside and other publications have all run with the story, which values 18-year-old Gray at £5m, £15m less than the figures Berahino would likely cost.
Arsenal, Newcastle and Everton are also monitoring the talented winger (who can alos play up top), but the only firm offer has so far come in from Championship side Bournemouth, who had a £2m proposal flatly rejected.
Gray is showing immense promise, having recently scored a hat-trick against Reading; but if he were to move to Anfield – he’d definitely be ‘one for the future,’ rather than a player who could make an immediate difference to our attacking fortunes.
Gray has made 30 appearances in totally for the Midlands club, and won caps at England Under-18 and Under-19 level.
