We reported earlier today that Liverpool have sent scout Paul Goldrick to watch Lazio midfielder Felipe Anderson. The 21-year-old Brazilian youth team international has been in fine form so far this season, and here’s ten facts to get you excited about our potential new arrival.

10) Felipe Anderson Pereira Gomes, to give him his full name, is nicknamed “O rato de Roma”. This is in relation to a popular Brazilian tongue-twister.
9) The 21-year-old began his senior career with Santos, scoring seven goals in 61 league games, playing alongside the likes of Kerrison, Ganso, Elano and even Neymar, prior to his move to Barcelona.
8) He cost Lazio €8m in June 2013, when he signed a five-year contract worth around €800,000-a-year. There was a large amount of controversy surrounding the deal, with complaints over third-party ownership.
7) He’s scored six goals and produced six assists so far this season, making it comfortably the most prolific of his career.
6) He is an attacking midfielder by trade, but is also capable of playing as both a right and left winger – making him similar in style to Philippe Coutinho.
5) Began his international career in 2010, playing for Brazil’s under-17s. Has also featured for the under-20s and under-21s, for whom he made his debut last year.
