The Belgian international midfielder is, according to the Daily Express, among a host of potential movers this summer, with Brendan Rodgers looking to further improve on his impressive squad.
Nainggolan, 26, has revealed that he’s ’50 per cent’ likely to leave the Italian side come the end of the season, with Liverpool believed to be leading a chasing pack for his signature.
The player is co-owned by Cagliari, and both clubs value their half of the player at £15m, says the Express. This means that any potential move will cost a minimum of £30m, and will also involve negotiations with both Italian sides.
Liverpool are pursuing a replacement for long-serving captain Steven Gerrard, who will leave the club at the end of the season for LA Galaxy. Nainggolan is just one of a number of rumoured candidates, but has at least opened the door for a potential move.
He said: “Will I stay at Roma? At the moment there’s a 50 per cent chance. However, I’m not worried as there’s still time. Roma and Cagliari have to find an agreement.
“I’m 100 per cent focused on Roma, it’s a great club, a great team and a beautiful city to live in.”
He’s feisty, works incredibly hard – and is technically able – but lacks the magic or passing range of our captain.
