Raheem Sterling caught smoking shisha pipe – Media pan 20-year-old yet again…
Nine Liverpool fringe players playing for a place at Wembley, as Reds training sessions spice up
The Metro had previously reported that a breakthrough had been reached during discussions with the 24-year-old, over a new deal worth £100,000 a week…
However, according to the Daily Mail, Henderson and his advisors have had their heads turned by the demands of his teammate. The 20-year-old Sterling is (claims the report) wanting closer to £150,000 a week, which would represent a hefty contractual gulf between the two. With the pair both having a solid season form-wise for Liverpool and England, it is believed that Henderson’s representatives want at least parity with Sterling, especially considering the fact that their client is likely to take on the full-time captaincy in time for next season.
It is worrying news to have two such important players for us seemingly holding the club to ransom. However, you can hardly blame Henderson for wanting to be rewarded. He has been given the armband in Gerrard’s absence, and has very much been a catalyst for the unbeaten run that stretched from December all the way until late March, and brought us back into the top-four picture.
