Which Liverpool players have hit the highest speeds so far this season…
LFC Xtra have picked up on a list of the ten fastest players in the Premier League, originally from The Telegraph. While it’s hardly the most accurate thing in the world, it’s always nice to see a couple of Reds make the cut.

Liverpool transfer news
The top ten is based on the highest speed each player has registered in the Premier League so far this season, rather than an overall average, so don’t be surprised to see a couple of strange candidates ranking highly!
Here’s the order that was given…
10) Jake Livermore (Hull City) – 21.19mph
The Tigers midfield terrier is always working hard and mopping up the pieces – and certainly not renowned for his gas.
9) Jack Colback (Newcastle United) – 21.20mph
Another midfield workhorse, the England hopeful puts himself about and has the bookings to show for it. Kindly dubbed ‘The Ginger Pirlo’ by Roy Hodgson, Colback has neither the Italian’s ability or composure on the ball – although he’s probably a little faster!
8) Steven Caulker (Queens Park Rangers) – 21.27mph
We all know that QPR have to do a lot of tracking back, so it’s no real surprise to see one of their back four here.
7) Jordan Henderson (Liverpool) – 21.30mph
Carrying on with the theme of box-to-box midfield players, we have our captain in waiting, who loves to bust a gut!
6) Nathaniel Clyne (Southampton) – 21.41mph
The pacy full-back has been highly impressive this season, with his form even forcing him into the England scene.
5) Wayne Rooney (Manchester United) – 21.42mph
What was United’s captain running for…? He might not be known for his pace but apparently he’s capable after all. Imagine how quick he’d be if he eat a little less!
4) Ahmed Elmohamady (Hull City) – 21.62mph
Known for his versatility on the right flank, the Egyptian has been been covering all of it, defensively and offensively, for the Premier League strugglers.
3) Raheem Sterling (Liverpool) – 21.78mph
Has been renowned for his pace since bursting onto the scene back in 2012, and it’s still a key element to his game.
2) Stewart Downing (West Ham United) – 21.79mph
Huh?! No, that’s not a typo, former Liverpool flop Stewart Downing clocked a near-league high earlier this term.
1) Moussa Sissoko (Newcastle United) – 22.00mph
He’s only beaten by Newcastle’s midfield express train, who’s almost single-handedly been carrying the Magpies. Box-to-box midfielders rack up the highest speeds, it seems.
