Liverpool transfer news
According to L’Equipe (via London 24), Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has set his sights on ‘bigger and better options’ and is prepared to allow the possible availability of Ayew pass him by.
The Ghana international is certain to move this summer and has, according to the source, already spoken to Italian giants Roma. Napoli, Wolfsburg, QPR and West Ham United are also among the player’s admirers. Tottenham had expressed an interest but are happy with new signing Dele Alli, who will join them next season from MK Dons.
Ayew, 25, previously confessed that he’d been dreaming of a move to Anfield (via the Evening Standard). However, it now looks as if he’ll have to make the move elsewhere, despite scoring 58 goals in 188 games for Les Olympiens.
Rodgers will in turn switch his attentions to recruiting two ‘marquee players’ who can fire us back to the top. He told The Telegraph earlier this week: “For fans and players it’s great to get those marquee players – and there are maybe one or two we need.
“The owners will support that. If they’re available and affordable within the model then we will look to get them.”
