According to reports on talkSPORT, the Reds have watched the £30m-rated star on several occasions but have not made any further approach, as Brendan Rodgers ponders his options ahead of the summer window.

The source claims that Munich have stolen a lead on their Premier League rivals by offering to loan Anderson back to Lazio next season, allowing the 22-year-old to continue his development in familiar surroundings.

Anderson, a Brazilian Under-21 international, has scored ten goals and provided six assists so far this season, playing 28 times in all competitions. He’s also proved himself to be extremely versatile, playing on both the right and left flanks as well as through the middle behind a central striker.

As with the Memphis Depay saga, it’s likely that the Reds will cool their interest in the player in order to concentrate on other targets – specifically a striker – as Brendan Rodgers explained in his press conference on Friday.

However, we’ll continue to watch this one with interest to see if these reports turn into anything more significant.
