According to the agent of sacked Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti, our former Spanish coach is ‘99%’ certain to become the new Bernabeu boss – leaving Serie A giants Napoli in the process.

“Rafa Benitez is 99 percent Real Madrid coach,”Ernesto Bronzetti said, reported here by ESPN.
“At the moment, Ancelotti wants to take a year’s rest,” Bronzetti added. “That is his intention.”
Despite the fact Ancelotti led Los Blancos to the Champions League last term, and oversaw a 22-match winning streak this season, the Real Madrid board have decided they need a new man in charge, after Barcelona secured La Liga. Real Madrid have now only won the title once in the past seven years – which is appalling considering the money they’ve spent.
Benitez has superb La Liga pedigree – winning back to back titles with Valencia at the start of the century, before he joined us in 2004. Since departing Anfield, he’s had mixed success at Inter Milan, Chelsea and now Napoli – but his stock is still high enough to get arguably the biggest job in football.
Benitez had been consistently talked up by Liverpool fans as our next potential manager, with many losing faith with Brendan Rodgers following our sixth placed Premier League finish which was confounded by the 6-1 demolition handed out by Stoke City on Sunday…
