Another player who we were fooled into signing off the back of a couple of good games for Senegal. The midfielder simply wasn’t up to scratch and his chances in the team were almost instantaneously limited. He made 37 Premier League appearances in half a decade at the club and he was eventually sold on to Stoke City in 2007.
Antonio Nunez
The man who will always be famous for just one thing – being part of the deal that took Michael Owen to Real Madrid. Needless to say we got the worse end of the deal with that one, although the midfielder probably wasn’t as bad as most people would have us remember. He’s since gone on to have a decent enough career in Spain.
