Jordon Ibe was the best player on the pitch for large portions of Liverpool’s game with the Malaysia XI on Friday, much to the delight of our supporters on social media.

The teenager levelled the scores during the first-half with a brilliant individual goal, beating his man before curling the ball perfectly into the top right-hand corner of the net.
Ibe, who will no doubt be eagerly anticipating the new season, is preparing for his first full campaign as a Liverpool player. He spent the first-half of last season on loan at Derby County, before returning and taking Anfield by storm earlier this year.
Raheem Sterling’s departure should open the door for Ibe in terms of getting more chances in an advanced position. The England youth team international looks to have the potential to even surpass his former teammate in the future, with goals such as the one he scored today being the latest indication of that fact.
