Liverpool have offloaded Andre Wisdom to Norwich on loan for the season, it’s been confirmed by the Echo.
The 22-year-old spent the campaign on loan at West Brom in 2014/15, and despite an excellent and promising start, fell out of favour when Tony Pulis took charge – and barely played during the second half of the season.
Now, it looks as though he’ll give it another go with the newly promoted Canaries – who’ll hopefully give him more of a chance than Pulis did.
Norwich will pay £1.25m to keep Wisdom for the term, and will pay his wages to boot, the report confirms.
Interestingly, we’re now looking pretty short at full-back. Nathaniel Clyne will be the automatic starting right-back, but his only backups are 18-year-old Joe Gomez and the perpetually injured Jon Flanagan.
What’s more – Alberto Moreno (assuming Jose Enrique is leaving) has only Gomez backing him up on the left of defence – which indicates that the rumours linking Lucas Digne (via Daily Mail), French international left-back, to Anfield – may have more than an ounce of truth in them.
