Liverpool have been drawn against German club Augsburg in the the Last 32 of the Europa League.
Many fans were hoping for a glamour tie against Borussia Dortmund, Jurgen Klopp’s former club, but will instead prepare for their Bundesliga rivals.
Augsburg currently sit 13th in the German table, and we’ll be heavy favourites going into the tie.
The two matches take place in February, so we’ve got the intensive festive schedule to navigate before our focus once again returns to Europe.
Our English rivals Spurs got a tricky tie against Fiorentina, while Manchester United got lucky with an easy tie against Danish minnows FC Midtjylland.
Top sides feature in the draw, including Valencia, Sevilla and Napoli – who broke the Group Stage scoring record.
We should be pleased to draw Augsburg, a solid but beatable outfit. If we qualify for the Last 16, we can start making the tournament a real priority as winning it grants Champions League entrance for next season.
