Liverpool already searching for buyers for Christian Benteke & looking at potential new strikers (Bleacher Report)

during the Barclays Premier League match between Manchester United and Liverpool at Old Trafford on September 12, 2015 in Manchester, United Kingdom.

Christian Benteke is likely to be sold by Liverpool in the summer, reckons Dean Jones of Bleacher Report.

The Belgian arrived for £32.5m in the summer from Aston Villa, but despite being our top scorer, has managed only seven goals so far – but more importantly – has played his way out Jurgen Klopp’s first-choice starting XI.

“What I’m hearing is that Liverpool are now ready to listen to any offers for Christian Benteke,” journalist Dean Jones claimed during an exclusive Team Stream video.

“Liverpool will now have to figure out how much money they can get for Christian Benteke, but certainly, they are looking at the possibility of him leaving the club.”

Jones goes on to state that Benteke won’t leave in January, but that the club want to replace him with a forward more befitting of Klopp’s style in the summer.

The report goes completely against Klopp’s recent claims (in the Echo) that Benteke is a “complete striker” and does have a future at Anfield.

A manager should always publicly support his players when they’re still at the club and could have a role to play, but Klopp’s decision to bench the forward is perhaps a more telling indication of his real feelings.

We actually think Benteke is a mighty handy option to have on the bench, although for the money he cost – he should obviously be contributing more.

What’s your thoughts, Reds? Should we bide our time with Benteke? Or cash in and buy a speedier, more mobile replacement?
