Liverpool today announced a new ticket pricing scheme for the 2016/17 season via their official website, but if you want a more mixed, less biased analysis of what’s actually changing – check out the Echo’s report here.
While a new scheme has been introduced to get local, young fans in cheaply for some matches, some match-day tickets – marketed now as ‘hospitality’ will cost £175.
And the most expensive season ticket will now cost over £1,000 – for the first time.

If we still had @LuisSuarez9 Liverpool could basically charge me whatever they wanted for my season ticket. Alas… #LFC — The Redmen TV (@TheRedmenTV) February 2, 2016
This ticket increase isn’t needed for the new stand to be repaid. Hospitality will more than cover that #LFC confirmed to us

£2million in extra revenue will not make us more competitive. We would still be ninth in Deloittee League, with or without it #LFC — Jay McKenna (@JayMcKenna87) February 2, 2016
There are £9 tickets. For 3 Category C matches a season. 527 seats. 1,581 tickets out of a possible 878,693 seats. So kind. #LFC

High ticket prices are bad, but marketing your brand internationally with imagery of those you are pricing out is beyond depressing.

If you’re one of the lucky ones who’s prices won’t be going up. Don’t have the attitude of “I’m ok” – support the ones who will get fleeced — Chris Hudson (@christwinny) February 2, 2016
So 36% who will have to pay more or move seats will be well pissed off, the price of loyalty!! Well done #LFC for making us feel worthless!

Look past the £9 tickets. They’re going to be charging £175. They changed it to ‘hospitality’ at the last minute too pic.twitter.com/a4LUlQpAK2
