Well, this is downright irritating.
Legendary fullback Dani Alves has suggested Coutinho should move to a side in the Champions League, amidst interest from PSG.
Reports have emerged which suggested the Ligue 1 champions had already approached Coutinho’s representatives, but the Echo says we’ll stand firm and reject any approach.
Alves is leaving Barcelona for Juventus (via ESPN), but having seen our Brazilian in training away with the international squad, the right-back found time to openly persuade Coutinho to join his former club.
“Football is about living the moment. Liverpool have history but you should consider playing for top UCL sides,” the 33-year-old told Yahoo Esportes.
“He has the quality to play for Barcelona.”
We have enough of a jobs on our hands to keep Coutinho without the likes of Alves sticking his nose in. Our playmaker does have Champions League quality, but hopefully after a full season under Jurgen Klopp in 2016/17 that’ll be something we can offer him.
Liverpool must move heaven and earth to keep Coutinho, as we cannot move forward if we continue to lose our best players every year. During the past two summers we lost Luis Suarez, Steven Gerrard and Raheem Sterling – and selling Coutinho would be wounding for the fanbase.
