We have no intention of turning fans against a player, and truly want Daniel Sturridge to knuckle down and prove to Jurgen Klopp and the supporters that he can lead the line in this team.
But after complaining about being deployed on the wing earlier in the week, Jurgen Klopp left him on the bench today versus Spurs – introducing young forward Divock Origi before him as well.
When Origi entered the field, the camera immediately panned to Sturridge – who looked less than amused.
If you check our Facebook page, you’ll see that many fans thought this was disrespectful, but many others thought it was totally fair enough – and that Sturridge was being disrespected by the manager in the first place…
It’s difficult to know where to stand. You can’t argue with Liverpool’s performance today, but you’d hope that Sturridge might have finished one of those chances in the first-half and put the game to bed.
Either way, he wasn’t happy.
