Mario Balotelli took it very personally that Jurgen Kopp didn’t rate him. Liverpool’s manager told him to find a new club this summer and since the Italian joined Nice, he’s consistently badmouthed the German.
Klopp doesn’t care – he’s got bigger and better things to worry about. Which is something Andre Wisdom understands.
The young Englishman was told to find a new club as well and like with Balotelli, Klopp didn’t offer him much of an explanation.

“I didn’t speak to Jurgen Klopp,” Wisdom told The Set Pieces. “But I don’t need babysitting or an arm around me. I’m not young anymore and even when I was I’d just get on with it. I know what I need to do: play, improve and work hard. I don’t need someone to tell me to do that. He’s got a lot on his plate and Liverpool have been great this season. Long may that continue.”
We admire this attitude from Wisdom. In all honesty, the player didn’t need to be told that he wasn’t a long-term option and the best thing he can do is play football regularly.
He’s a starter for Red Bull Salzburg in Austria, in his favoured centre-back position and we hope at 23, he can finally start fulfilling his potential.
There was a time when Wisdom seemed destined for a regular spot in Liverpool’s first-team, but an uninspiring loan spell at Norwich last season put and end to that.
Klopp’s ruthless when he needs to be, but it’s because he sees no room for deadwood in the tightly-knit squad he’s trying to build.
