James Pearce has claimed outright in the Echo that we’re tracking Spartak Moscow flyer Quincy Promes. The 24-year-old plies his trade in Russia having moved there in 2014 from boyhood club FC Twente.

He’s been sensational for Spartak, scoring 13 goals in 2014/15, 18 last time out and five already in just eight appearances this. In fact, his goals have propelled Spartak to the top of the table right now.
Promes represents the Netherlands at international level alongside Gini Wijnaldum, where he’s become a fixture in the side this year, scoring twice in 14 appearances.
Pearce claims that a £25m fee would be expected, with Liverpool desperate to add a versatile, pacy attacker to the squad come January, with Sadio Mane heading to the AFCON and Danny Ings out for the season.
Promes clearly has the profile we’re after. He’s rapid, skilful and has a real eye for goal – and much like Mane – seems to be entering his peak.
