The Christmas period in the Premier League is something every foreign player has to get used to when they come to England.
Playing in the winter months is a gruelling task for those that are so used to sun, sand and sea during the festive period and the mid-season break that a lot of other leagues around the world offer the players.
Roberto Firmino has had his say on life in England at this time of year and adapting to the weather.
He told the Mirror: “I have to say the big difference to Brazil is the bad weather. It’s so cold here at Christmas!”
“In Brazil you spend Christmas with family and friends, the sun is shining and you spend the days in the sea. A bit different.”
“So if I had to get one Christmas present for my Brazilian and Spanish teammates I would buy them the sunshine and wrap it up for them!”
“But I’m joking, of course. I’m very happy here and for me Liverpool is my home and I love it here.”
“And this time I’m ready for Christmas – I know what it is going to be like. In England at Christmas it’s football, football, football! That’s very different to my experience in Germany but I’m getting used to it.”

Football, football and more football is what we love. Hopefully our Brazilian star will have to put up with the bad weather for years to come.
Sunshine would certainly be a nice Christmas present for Firmino and his teammates but the chances of getting that are few and far between at this time of year.
