Everyone remembers how those Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain rumours turned out, right?
For just a minute it seemed like the Arsenal man was a serious target for us this month until Jurgen Klopp quickly rubbished the idea. We sense the latest rumour could go the same way.
Liverpool officials have been sent to Portugal to discuss a deal for Sporting Lisbon midfielder William Carvalho, according to Portuguese paper A Bola, translated by the Echo.
Carvalho has been heavily linked to a Premier League move for a few years now and caught the eye of many teams again during Euro 2016, which Portugal went on to win.
This proposed deal seems to have arisen from nowhere, much like every other Liverpool transfer rumour this month. He is a powerful and composed holding midfielder and as good a signing as he would be, we can’t see Klopp opting to recruit anyone for a position Jordan Henderson is doing rather well in.
Nice try, but we don’t see this one happening.
