We are all for abiding by Jurgen Klopp’s wishes and remaining grounded as far as discussing Ben Woodburn is concerned but we can’t help but get excited about the teenager.
Liverpool’s youngest ever goal scorer has found himself subject to high praise from fans and the media after his record breaking strike against Leeds and has since that day continued to make his presence felt around the club.
He was a standout figure for the U23s in their 3-0 win over Ipswich on Sunday and caught the eye with an impressive performance from a less familiar position.

The 17-year-old played the majority of the game in central midfield where he displayed the kind of composure and dominance on the ball that put him a class above his opponents.
It was the kind of mature and relaxed yet slick showing that would have been expected from a first team regular getting some minutes in Liverpool’s second string side.
He not only demonstrated an unexpected physical strength as well as his work rate and intelligence in the middle of the park but he also presented himself as an attacking threat from his deeper role.
It was incredible how comfortable he looked. A role for the future, perhaps?
