Bitter Mourinho takes unnecessary jibe at Liverpool boss

during the UEFA Champions League Round of 16, second leg match between Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain at Stamford Bridge on March 11, 2015 in London, England.

Jose Mourinho is just not an especially nice person, is he?

That’s the impression we’ve got since the Portuguese arrived in England 14 years ago, anyway.

He picks fights with managers he thinks are rivals, so while this is a compliment in some respects, it’s just not called for.

Manchester United lost 2-1 to Hull last night, but progressed to the EFL Cup Final on aggregate, where they’ll face Southampton, who beat us on Wednesday evening.

Following our defeat Jurgen Klopp, not making excuses, said it had been a very windy night at Anfield – and despite getting to the final – Mourinho chose to make a sarcastic comment about the Wembley conditions after the game.

“I don’t think we are favourites against nobody,” said the United boss, cited by the Echo.

“It doesn’t matter against who or where, we are never favourites. Normally the stadium is windy and it’s difficult.”

His intimation here is abundantly clear and we hope Klopp doesn’t rise to it.

The fact of the matter is, Klopp wasn’t complaining, but Mourinho is trying to suggest he was to wind up Liverpool’s manager.

We don’t think it’ll work – Klopp has enough on his plate right now. If anything, it shows how bitter United’s boss is.
