It wouldn’t be a Sunday or any other day in fact without a new Liverpool transfer rumour.
The latest reports are suggesting that the Reds are interested in signing a replacement for Daniel Sturridge with the England star believed to be on his way out of the club in the summer.
“Klopp would love to bring former striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Borussia Dortmund but the £70million rated Gabon international is also on the wish list of the likes of Real Madrid, Manchester City and Chelsea. Liverpool also have an interest in Athletic Bilbao striker Inaki Williams,” reported the Mirror.
Adding a new striker seems like a necessity whether Sturridge remains a Liverpool player or not.
Securing Champions League football is a must if we are to have any chances of bringing Aubameyang, or any top class forward for that matter, to Liverpool. As highly rated as Williams is, he is a player that is still developing and still has a lot to prove. That isn’t to say he doesn’t have what it takes to become a great signing though, especially when considering Klopp’s ability to get the best out of players.
The squad will strengthen at the end of the season, there is no doubt about it now. The manner in which we finish the season will be crucial in terms of deciding on the quality of players we can attract.
