Sadio Mane got the Man of the Match award against Arsenal, and while the Senegalese flyer was absurdly good, we’d have given it to Adam Lallana.
The Englishman was at his ferocious best, skilful on the ball and relentless off it. In truth, Arsenal couldn’t cope and it would have been a travesty if they’d snatched a draw late on. Thankfully, we added gloss and finished 3-1 winners.
In this clip below, you’ll see how impressive Lallana is off the ball. His pressing is unrivalled, but he can back it up with moments of genius, too.
Look at his contribution for the third goal. He takes a ball out of the air, ruins the Arsenal midfielder with a turn and then plays a pinpoint through-ball with the outside of his foot to an onrushing Divock Origi.
Incredible!
