Spanish football expert Gulliem Balague has knocked back the latest rumours once again linking Philippe Coutinho to a move to Barcelona.
The Brazilian has found himself subject to undying interest from the La Liga giants as far as a number of media outlets are concerned yet nothing, as expected, is yet to have materialised.
Liverpool went someway towards securing his services for seasons to come in January when the forward signed a new long-term contract. That, however, hasn’t stopped the suggestions that he could join his international teammate Neymar in Spain.
“There are more stories coming out that Barcelona want Coutinho and he is willing to go. I have no doubt he is willing to go, but Barcelona are not after him,” Balague revealed in a Sky Sports Q&A session.
“It’s just moves the agents are making to try to convince Barcelona to move for him. But they do not want him.”

This latest development, if it can be called a development, poses as yet another reminder of why this club progressing is so important- starting with qualifying for the Champions League this season.
Coutinho’s sparkling start to the campaign saw him become arguably the best performing player in the league at one point before an ankle injury cruelly sidelined him for two months.
It seems a fair assessment to say he is an entire dominant campaign away from potentially being ready for a move to Barcelona. Reds, for the time being, can take confidence from the commitment he has shown to Liverpool by signing a new deal as well as his visible determination to take the team forward.
