The Liverpool transfer rumour mill has picked up speed of late in anticipation of the fast approaching summer window.
Latest developments in the club’s pursuit of Sadio Mane-like pace, movement and wing play have suggested that Jurgen Klopp is close to agreeing a deal to sign Leicester’s Demarai Gray.
Liverpool are confident of landing the 20-year-old for £12million when the transfer window opens in July, according to the Mirror.
Gray’s fairly limited involvement with last season’s Premier League champions poses as a worry in terms of a need for Klopp to be targeting proven talent. That said, there have admittedly been question marks over why he has been so regularly overlooked by his club having impressed on most outings since his move from Birmingham.
It is his lack of playing time that has seen the player himself seemingly grow frustrated and thereby open to a move away from the King Power Stadium.
He marks the kind of young prospect Klopp will undoubtedly be drawn to working to and a talent the Reds boss will feel he can develop into a star in England’s top flight.
The pace in behind, ability to beat his marker and the natural width he provides makes interest relatively self-explanatory with Liverpool making it no secret of a desire to bolster the team’s options on the flanks. Certainly a realistic target fans have good reason to believe could arrive at Anfield.
